Homes for Families Creative Writing Contest Winners
"Homes for Families" is a charity that helps families who are homeless.
There are also charities for the homeless in the United Kingdom. "Homes
for Families" want to make sure that every child in the state of Massachusetts (USA) has a home. Most of the staff knows what it is like to
be homeless as they have been in that situation themselves. The charity was established in 1994 and it would like to wipe out homelessness in the area.
If you want to find out more about this great cause then visit www.homesforfamiles.org They had a contest in writing for children and I thought you would be interested in the winner's stories. I hope it will also give you an insight into what life can be like if you are homeless. So here
are the winners of their My Story Creative Writing Contest 2010.

ACTIVITY
A very special heart comes from both Desiree and Grisel for having activities on Thursdays at 6 and because of that I have developed a lot.
Care – for us, it is like they are our shoulders to cry on.
They take time out of their busy days to care for our important lives.
Intelligence is what I am creating in my mind due to the fact that I felt like it when I first came here.
Varieties of thought – there were so many I could not sleep that night.
I will miss being here.
Too astonished when I heard that we were moving, but it’s like we keep losing the game; like we’re right back there, but something is keeping us back.
You know something? Everything happens for a reason.
