Songs You've Never Heard Before
Songs You’ve Never Heard Before is a CD by Amy Langley. A lot of the songs I found have a gentle calming effect which is very relaxing. On “Creature of the Sea” I could hear the sounds of seagulls and
dolphins which made me think of the seaside. They have said that dolphins and the sound of the sea will help you to go to sleep if you listen to them. “On “Rain” the music sounds like rain falling.
You can sing a long to the songs and
“Who Sings the Moo” to me was a modern and different take on “Old McDonald had a Farm”. Amy describes it as “foot stomping country”. Rastman is a reggae song that is fun to sing along to. “One world” is a simple chant for peace. This could be a lovely song to sing on The International Day of Peace on 21st September.
There is a songbook that has been illustrated by Amy Langley to encourage you to play and sing along either on your own or with the CD. You could even create your own band with your friends. So you can explore and develop your musical talent further. Amy loved playing the piano and singing from a young age. She then went on to study music at the University of Arizona. She later went on to form 2 bands. Amy says “Each song is written in a different musical style”. This is so you can discover all the various musical styles there are. So for example
“Rain” has a calypso feel. “Give Your Heart” a bit of ragtime and “Ode to Coyote” has a western feel. This is a great way of exploring music. When I was a child I really only heard classical and pop/rock music. It is only since I‘ve got older that I’ve heard and enjoyed more music of different types. This is a terrific way of starting early and learning, enjoying a wider range of music.
If you’d like to unlock and explore your musical talent or you just enjoy listening to music and singing a long, then you should have a listen to Songs You’ve Never Heard Before.
