Streetball Extreme





If you are looking for an exciting new sport to try then you might enjoy this. Streetball Extreme is a game that has grown out of basketball. The difference with Streetball Extreme is there are no rules and no referee. You have to use your creative skills in order to beat your opponent.
Streetball Extreme was started by Tom Connors (Known as Con-man). One of the things he does is give motivational talks to children in deprived areas around the United Kingdom. Having what he
described as a "harsh upbringing and no family". These talks are
based on his life. His ambition in life was to become a Professional basketball player and his determination to achieve this kept him
going during the difficult times. He trained everyday and managed
to get a job that fitted around his training. His ability and talent
didn't go unnoticed. He was soon given the chance to fulfil his
ambition of turning professional.
The problem was he found it hard to keep within the rules of basketball. His skilful tricks were impressive but they didn't belong in basketball. Fortunately a coach stepped in and seeing his potential gave him a tape to watch of a streetball team called And1. Streetball suited his
style of playing. He eventually ended up playing for And1 the very successful American based streetball team. He gave it up as he wanted
to take streetball to the United Kingdom. Back home he got his own
team together "Streetball Extreme". It attracted the most talented players around. They have now become so popular that they appear on various television shows including the Extreme Sports Channel where they had a successful television show "The Battle for Europe". This brought them to the attention of the world as the programme was shown in 52
countries.
Streetball Extreme wants to get children and young people off the
streets and into playing basketball and learning the tricks of streetball.
It also does events in schools and youth clubs. The word extreme
comes from Tom Connors extreme upbringing that made him
determined to achieve his goal as well as expressing the type of
website it was. But above all Streetball is exciting and a fun sport
to be involved with.
